Michele Meyer, 58, of Ely, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.
Celebration of Life services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday at The Avacentre at Brosh Chapel. A private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Michele was born May 30, 1956, in Emmetsburg, the daughter of Louis and Norma (White) Gross. She married Steven Russell Meyer on April 27, 1974, in Jefferson. Michele worked for many years at Verizon in Cedar Rapids.
Michele is survived by a son, Damon Meyer; a daughter, Kara (Marc) Leonard; four grandchildren, Laurdyn Meyer, Braylon Meyer, Avery Leonard and Beau Leonard; her siblings, Deb Layland (Bruce Christensen), Veronica (Dave) Clipperton, Diana (Jeff) Herring, Patty (Jeff) Prouty, Becky (Garry) Kalitzki, Linda (Jerry) Wolterman, Jim (Audra) Gross, Dan (Tonya) Gross and Mike (Amanda) Gross; two sisters-in-law, Carol (Sam) Fengel and Pat (Dave) Luther; three brothers-in-law, Michael (Joanne) Meyer, Brian Meyer and Robert (Mary) Meyer; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Michele was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Meyer; and her parents.
