Ernest "Ernie" Mouchka, 81, of Swisher, died Monday, April 6, 2020, in his home. Celebration of Life services will be livestreamed starting at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 9, on Brosh Chapel's Facebook page. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery in Swisher.
Ernest was born Aug. 7, 1938, in rural Johnson County, the son of Ben and Mary (Svoboda) Mouchka. He was united in marriage to Doris Kadera on Jan. 31, 1957, at First Presbyterian Church near Ely. He was an over-the-road truck driver at FJ Krob for more than 25 years. Ernie and Doris farmed in the Swisher area. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors, working the cattle, being on the farm and spending time with his family.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Doris; his children, Dan (Dorine) Mouchka and Diane (Laura) Mouchka, both of Walker; his grandchildren, Christopher Young, Aaron (Tineka) Mouchka and Logan Morgan; step-grandchild, Ashelie-Marie (Branwell Vandergaast) Curtis; two stepgreat-grandchildren; his sister, Evelyn (Bob) Klienmeyer of Amana; and his stepsister, Doris McCarty of Marshalltown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles.
