SHIRLEY L. (DANIELS) MOODY

Shirley L. (Daniels) Moody, 81, of Center Point, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Moody; children, Rhonda, Robert (LuAnne), Renae and Ronald (Marianne); nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Norma (Merrit), Beverly (Harold) and Harold (Cherie); and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rebecca; and siblings, Paul, Evelyn, Danny, Dick, Bob and Carol.
Shirley was born July 29, 1934, in Winona, Minn., the daughter of Paul S. and Mary L. Daniels. She married Jack Moody on Oct. 8, 1952, in Winona, Minn. Shirley started as a volunteer at Asbury United Methodist Church helping young children with disabilities and later worked with school-aged children with disabilities in the Cedar Rapids School District. She loved spending time with her family, taking trips with Jack and enjoyed her geraniums.
