GRETA GRONEWOLD
North Liberty
Greta Gronewold, 77, of North Liberty, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Olin Cemetery.
Greta Ann was born June 19, 1937, to parents John and Maugerite (Simmons) Moreland. She married Laurence Gronewold on June 19, 1956, in Rochester, Iowa. She worked for 14 years as a housekeeper for University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City and for 18 years at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, where she also served as union president for 16 years.
Greta liked reading, going out to eat, baking, cooking and spending time with her dogs, Sadie and Daisy.
Greta is survived by her sons, Larry Gronewold and Tracy Gronewold; daughters, Lori Roller, Lisa Gronewold and Lana Gronewold; brothers, John Moreland and Sidney Moreland; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Lue Anne Huber; parents; her brother, Darrell Moreland; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred.
