Krutzfeldt, Virginia May Wieben
Virginia May Wieben Krutzfeldt, 95, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, with the Rev. Dr. James Eggert officiating. Interment will be held at Keystone Cemetery. Friends may register at the church from noon until service time on Sunday.
A memorial fund has been established for St. John Lutheran Church, Keystone Nursing Care Center or St. Luke's Hospice. Virginia was born May 6, 1914, in Elberon to Dr. F. F. and Agnes (Ulch) Wieben. She graduated from the Keystone High School in 1933. On Sept. 12, 1934, she was united in marriage to Wilbert H. Krutzfeldt at her parents' home in Keystone. The couple farmed and lived in the Elberon area until moving to Keystone in 1970. In 1975, they retired from farming. They became charter residents of the Senior Suites at the Keystone Care Center in 1997. Virginia was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed membership in the Ladies Home Mission Society. During the 1970s, she was employed at Killians in the women's coats and suits department.
She is survived by her son, Garry and wife Rosemary Krutzfeldt of Keystone; her grandsons, David (Jane) Krutzfeldt of Oskaloosa and Douglas (Denise) Krutzfeldt of Solon; five great-grandchildren, Stephen and Samuel Krutzfeldt, Ben and Hannah Farnsworth, and Ben Krutzfeldt; her sister, Angeline Holst of Traer; and her sister-in-law, Norma Garbers of Van Horne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Wilbert, on Jan. 9, 1999.
