Lynda J. Sealock, 71, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, from complications of pneumonia and cancer. Private services will be held. Burial: Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 26, at Overton Funeral Home, Traer.
Memorial may be made to the family.

Lynda Jean Sealock was born on June 6, 1944, (D Day) in Waterloo, the daughter of Dan (Cyril) and Diane (Beasley) Vogt. Lynda grew up in Waterloo and graduated from Columbus High School with the class of 1962. She then attended Gates Business College in Waterloo. Lynda started her working career as a secretary at John Deere for two years. On June 1, 1968, Lynda was united in marriage to Mervin Sealock at St. Nick's Catholic Church in Evansdale. The couple made their home on a farm two miles north of Clutier. Lynda helped however she could on the farm. She also helped in the kitchen at North Tama High School for many years.
Lynda loved traveling to the Southwest, camping, fishing and firing guns. She had a passion for the Boy Scouts and served as scout master for Troop No. 304 for over 20 years. During that time, Lynda helped many young men become Eagle Scouts as well as achieving the high honor herself, the Order of the Arrow.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Brett.
Lynda is survived by her husband, Mervin of Clutier; three sons, Del (Michelle) Sealock of Clutier, Ryan (Ashley) Sealock of Waterloo and Reece Sealock of San Diego; four sisters, Judy (Dana) Anderson of Orange Township, Carol Vogt of Evansdale, Nancy (Jim) Falk of Clive and Pam (Frank) Gibson of Cedar Falls; and four grandchildren, Jordan, Amber, Erin and Jacob.
