Ann Tack (71) of Marion, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Saturday,
July 7, 2018.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, Iowa, starting at 11 a.m. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 9 a.m. at the church.
Ann Louise Smith was born April 23, 1947, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Charles and Dorothy (Parden) Smith. Ann married Ron Tack on June 19, 1971, in Waterloo, Iowa. Ann was a beloved teacher in the Cedar Rapids school district for 32 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her two sons and five grandchildren. Ann loved spending time with her family. Ann's favorite pastimes included arranging flowers and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs.
Ann will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Ron; her two sons, Andy (Emily) Tack of Sarasota, Fla., and Mark (Jaime) Tack of Arlington Heights, Ill.; five grandchildren, Charlie (12), Lila (11), Jameson (8), Gavin (6) and Sloane (4 weeks); one brother, Steve (Mary) Smith of Iowa City, Iowa; one sister, Liz (Terry) Lynch of Whitefish Bay, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents.
She lived a complete and wonderful life.
