Rose Marie (Sullivan) Wubbens was born April 11, 1927, in Elma, Iowa, the youngest of 10 children born to Charles and Margaret (Maggie) Jacoby Sullivan. She graduated from Elma High School in 1945, and shortly after moved to Cedar Rapids to work at Collins Radio as a receptionist/secretary. She met Eddie Wubbens, became engaged on Nov 23, 1947, and was married on the family wedding date, which was June 12, 1948. They lived in Cedar Rapids until 1976.
The couple enjoyed square dancing, golf, cards and travel. Rose Marie was the entire staff of Wubbens Electric back in 1960. She was an amazing bookkeeper and manager of money. Moving to Charles City in 1976 to re-open Wubbens Electric, Rose Marie didn't work directly in the business but always knew the electrical contracting field and held great pride in their accomplishments. Rose Marie had a gift for remodeling and redecorating and there was no doubt she was good at it. She loved swimming at the YMCA, decorating and money magazines from the library, her Catholic faith, her children and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rose Marie had the gift of socializing and could talk for hours.
She is survived by her three children, Terry of Charles City, Susan (Bob) Morris of Manchester and Jim (Sheila) Wubbens of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Regan; and many special nieces and nephews.
Rose Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward C. Wubbens; two sisters, Marie Frank and Lila Marr; and six brothers, Joe Sullivan, Vern Sullivan, Virgil Sullivan, Lawrence Sullivan, Omer Sullivan and Charles Sullivan (infant).
