Pauline Schatzle, 92, of Alburnett, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016, at Hiawatha Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, with visitation an hour before, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pauline was born Oct. 25, 1923, in Troy Mills, Iowa, the daughter of Orie and Blanche (Machacek) Long.
She married the love of her life, Lester, in 1942. To this union two children were born. They shared many memories together until his passing in 2005.
Pauline was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and spouse.
Left to cherish Pauline's memory are her children, Bev (Rex) Naylor and Steve (Sue) Schatzle; four grandchildren, Brevity (John) Airy, Brett (Jessica) Naylor, Jared Schatzle and Summer (Terry) Thompson; seven great-grandchildren; and many other family members.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hiawatha Care Center, where Pauline received such wonderful care for the last 10 years.
