Cooper, Pauline M.
Pauline M. Cooper, 90, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, formerly of Alburnett, died Thursday morning, Nov. 17, 2011. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Dan Peterson. Family will greet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Lafayette Cemetery, Alburnett.
Survivors include her children, Mary Sue (Charlie) Rozek of Toddville, Alan (Becky) Cooper of Robins, Sara (Gary) Liebe of Central City and Betty (Chuck) Dickerson of Alburnett; seven grandchildren, Stacy (Charlie) McClintock, Michael Rozek, Misty (Wally) King, Mindy Liebe, Rachel Rairdin, Kevin Rairdin and Heidi Dickerson; five stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake; her parents; and brothers, Forrest, Dean, Bobbie, and her twin brother, Paul Lowther.
Pauline was born April 17, 1921, in Humphrey, Mo., the daughter of Willie “Clyde” and Mary Adelia (Pickett) Lowther. She was united in marriage to Jacob “Jake” O. Cooper on Dec. 25, 1943. He died Jan. 29, 1989.
Pauline was a member of the Alburnett Christian Church, where she served as secretary/treasurer for over 30 years. She also enjoyed crocheting and was an avid Hawkeye and Cubs fan. Pauline enjoyed bird watching and kept an immaculate yard. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
