Frank, Rev. David I.
The Rev. David I. Frank, 83, of Des Moines, went to be with his Lord on Sept. 15, 2010. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at West Des Moines Open Bible Church, with burial and military honors at Urbana Cemetery in Urbana. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Brooks Funeral Care, 7975 University Blvd., Clive.
David was born Sept. 21, 1926, to Samuel and Ida Frank, in Center Point, Iowa. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Army, and married Arlene Lane on Aug. 26, 1949, in Cedar Rapids. Two children were born to this union. Arlene died in January 1992 after 42 years of marriage. David graduated from Open Bible Institute and was a minister for over 60 years. His ministry included West Des Moines Open Bible, Open Bible Church in Iowa Falls, and Corey Grove Community Church in Elkhart among others. He also taught theology at Florida Beacon College.
David will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a joke teller, and someone who truly loved the ministry and enjoyed traveling.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; parents; and brother, Elmer Frank.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Rod (Rebecca) Frank of Iowa Falls and Dalene Frank of Des Moines; five grandchildren, Justin (Stephanie) Boor, Jessica (Adam) Jackson, Joel Frank, David Frank and Aaron Frank; and three great-grandchildren, Gretchen Boor, Tanner Jackson and Kendra Jackson.
