Karla J. Fowler, 76, of Tipton, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, 2018, at the Wilton Retirement Center.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton with Fr. Richard Okumo officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with the recitation of the rosary at 3:45 p.m.

Karla was one of five daughters born to Loren and Kathryn (Roberts) Carlisle. Karla graduated from Tipton High School with the Class of 1960 and attended the University of Northern Iowa. She was united in marriage to Jon E. Fowler on Dec. 30, 1961, in Tipton. Karla was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tipton and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are her children, Sarah Fowler (and husband, Chris Chambers) of Springfield, Ill., Greg Fowler (and wife, Wendy) of West Branch, Iowa and Andrew Fowler (and wife, Erin Schroeder) of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren, Luca Passeri, Calvin Chambers, Anna Chambers, Brittany Dlhy and Braden Dlhy; sisters, Mary Jane Sesker of Tipton, Iowa, Sandra Masterson of Galesburg, Ill., and Cynthia Carlisle of Tipton, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Karla was preceded in death by her husband, Jon, on April 19, 1997; and her sister, Pat Trump.
