MARGUERITTE (TVRDIK) HOSTAK
Cedar Rapids
Margueritte (Tvrdik) Hostak, 94, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 4, 2020, at Hiawatha Care Center. Private graveside services will be held with burial at Czech National Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting the family. Celebrant Julie Freese will preside.
Margueritte was born to Frank John and Anna Monica Tvrdik on July 26, 1925, in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Wilson High School. She married George Hostak on June 22, 1945. They lived their 46 years together in Iowa, Washington and California. She enjoyed her life as a homemaker, reading the Holy Bible and all things Christian, volunteering at St. Luke's Hospital, crocheting afghans for the Shriners Children's Hospital, mall shopping, garage sales and casinos. Her sense of humor and sharp wit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Camacho of Beaverton, Ore., and Beverly Ghardi of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Barbara Skogman of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Kimm; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Annalisa, Christine, Nicole and Michael; nieces and nephews, Robert and Penny Tvrdik, Diane Gunka, William J. Skogman and Karie Skogman; grandnephew, Maj. John Skogman; and grandnieces, Monica Williams and Kathryn Lammers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Hostak; granddaughter, Michelle Camacho; brother and sister-in-law, Robert C. and Winifred Tvrdik; brother-in-law, William B Skogman; nephew-in-law, John Gunka; and cousins.
