CEDAR RAPIDS - The band YES has canceled the remainder of its Yestival Tour dates, including Tuesday night's scheduled performance at the McGrath Amphitheatre in Cedar Rapids.
The cancellation is due to the unexpected death of guitarist Steve Howe's son, composer/drummer Virgil Howe, 42.
A notice on the McGrath Amphitheatre website at mcgrathamphitheatre.com says full refunds will be available at the point of purchase.
'All patrons who purchased tickets via credit or debit cards will receive automatic refunds,” the site states. 'Any cash purchases should be returned to Ticketmaster Outlets or U.S. Cellular Center Box Office, open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.”
YES was to perform a 7 p.m. show Tuesday with special guest Todd Rundgren.
'YES - Howe, Alan White, Geoff Downes, Jon Davison and Billy Sherwood - want to thank all their fans for their support and understanding at this time,” a message on the McGrath Amphitheatre website reads. 'The Howe family asks for their privacy to be respected at this sad time.”
