Trumpold, Darlene M.
Darlene M. Trumpold, 77, of Marion, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include two sons, Gary (Sherry) Trumpold and Steve (Mary) Trumpold, both of Marion; three brothers, Marvin (Winnie) Walker of Bullhead City, Ariz., Roger (Cathy) Walker of Marion, and Gerald (Alice) Walker of West Burlington; two sisters, Virginia Walker and Geraldine (Leon) Davis, both of Marion; the lights of her life, her three grandchildren, James Trumpold and Jessica Trumpold, both of Marion, and Jon Trumpold of Fairfield; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Darlene was born Nov. 14, 1932, the daughter of George and Elsie (Swick) Walker in Watkins, Iowa. Darlene loved reading, going on trips with her friends and family to Las Vegas, Laughlin and Branson, Mo. She enjoyed planning her high school reunions, meeting the “girls” at Carlos O'Kelly's on Wednesdays, meeting up with the “Golden Girls,” spending time with her grandchildren, walking with her friends at the mall, watching her grandpups and helping others in anyway she could.
A memorial fund has been established in Darlene's memory.
