Meade, Jerome 'Jerry'
Jerome “Jerry” Meade, 79, of Marion, passed away Jan. 20, 2010, in his home. Per his request, Jerry was cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Walker. The Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa is assisting with arrangements.
Jerry was born in Walker, Iowa, on Dec. 15, 1930, to Gordon and Rose Meade. He graduated from Walker High School. Jerry served his country with the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. In 1954, Jerry was united in marriage to Shirley Jay, a union lasting 26 years. Following a divorce, he married Bonnie Robinson in 1981.
Jerry was preceded in death by first wife, Shirley; second wife, Bonnie; and two sons.
Survivors include three sons, two daughters, 29 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
