Walker, Richard Dwight
Richard Dwight Walker, 60, of 1401 Douglas Ct., Marion, died Sunday, April 4, 2010, from a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. James United Methodist Church, where visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until service time. The Rev. Beth Mary Straw will officiate. Burial: North Walker Cemetery, Sperry, Iowa. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his sister, Mary McCollum and husband Joseph of Jacksonville, Fla.; a niece, Melissa Hadden and husband Montgomery of Jacksonville, Fla.; a nephew, Matthew McCollum and wife Ashley of St. Johns, Fla.; great-nephews, Jackson and Grayson Hadden of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a great-niece, Ashlyn Grace McCollum of St. Johns, Fla.
Also surviving are many dear friends from his church and Discovery Living.
Richard was born May 12, 1949, in Laurens, Pocahontas County, Iowa, the son of the late Dwight McAllister Walker and Anna Grace Bruner Walker. Richard worked for Options of Linn County and was a member of St. James United Methodist Church.
