Joan E. Masters, 87, of Oelwein, formerly of Clear Lake, died Monday afternoon, July 16, 2012, at Oelwein Health Care Center in Oelwein. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Harry Koelker officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein. Scripture Service: 7:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
Memorial Fund: Sacred Heart Catholic School, Oelwein.

Joan is survived by her five children, Dennis (Ruth) Masters of Marion, Deborah (Edward) Otdoerfer of Hazleton, Stephen (Chris) Masters of Oelwein, Katie (David) Jarvill of Charles City and Edward (Chris) Masters of Clear Lake; many grandchildren; and a brother, Norbert “Bud” Duffy of Waukon.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert on March 3, 1994; grandson, Troy Clark; and a sister, Kathleen Brant.
