Sites, Juanita
Juanita Sites, 86, of Dundee, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Dundee, with the Rev. Ron Spears officiating. Burial will be in Forrestville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Roberson Funeral Home in Strawberry Point and also an hour before services Saturday at the church.
Juanita was born Oct. 4, 1923, in Morris, Minn., the daughter of Robert and Mettie (Millhouse) Morrison. She married Boyd Keil and had one son, Harry Keil. Later divorced, she married Earle “Bud” R. Sites on June 17, 1950, and three children were born: Bill, Linda and Lynn.
She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend. She enjoyed cooking, puzzle games, TV and her family. She had many years working at the Corner Tap and 17 years working at Lewisystems/Menasha Corp. in Manchester, retiring in June 1989. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children, Harry (Marilyn Hahn) Keil of Waterloo, William “Bill” Sites and fiancee Velvet Johnson of Gallatin, Mo., Linda Sweet of Marion and Lynn (Diane) Sites of Dundee; 10 grandchildren, Sheila, Rene and Jeff Keil, Kelly Smith, Kealy Hall, Shannon Sites, Angie Schmitz, Dales Sites, Sara Sites and Lisa Blough; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence (Beverly) Morrison of Oran; two sisters, Irene Mohrman of Montevideo, Minn., and Awanda (Doc) Pilcher of Warsaw, Mo.; sister-in-law, Darlene Ives of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle “Bud” Sites on Oct. 24, 1984; granddaughter, Amy Lee Blough-Sites in August 1994; her mother, Mettie (Millhouse) Reiher in February 1995; grandson, Doug LaVern Sites in May 1997; sister, Veyon O'Haver in August 2009; and a brother, Robert in infancy.
The family wishes to give special thanks to her great neighbors and friends, Lynn and Russ Ronnebaum and family; to the Rev. Ron Spears for his many hours and prayers; and to Hospice Care of Comfort and the great volunteers for the many hours of care. It is all greatly appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Regional Medical Center Hospice of Comfort.
