Harry Dale Hershey, 78, of Central City, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Private family services will take place. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Annetta Fay (Romig) Hershey; his daughters, Deanna Drtina and Barbara (Gary) Snobl, both of Central City; his brother, George Hershey of Alburnett; his sister, Betty (Martin) Bayer of Guernsey; his grandchildren, Justine and Dustin Drtina of Central City and Tymbrie Snobl of Ames; one great-granddaughter, Lola; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Howard Bruce Hershey, who died in infancy; and a sister-in-law, Velma Hershey.
Harry was born Jan. 18, 1938, the son of Charles William Hershey and Anna (Lockhart) Hershey in Atkins, Iowa. He graduated from Alburnett High School in 1956. He married his wife, Annetta, on Dec. 21, 1964. Harry was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for the Linn County Road Maintenance Department for many years, retiring in March 2003 at age 65. He enjoyed farming, fishing and going to casinos.
