Luna, Jovan Jorge
Jovan Jorge Luna, infant son of Josue and Breanna (Tritle) Luna-Munoz of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Services: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, by Pastor Ramon Figueroa. Burial: Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A benefit for Jovan's family will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Sammy's Lounge, 5519 Center Point Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids.
In addition to his parents, Jovan is survived by brothers and sisters, Angela, Federico, Malayna, Josue and Joaquin, all of Cedar Rapids; grandparents, Diane Shaw, Phoenix, Ariz., Brian Tritle, Cedar Rapids, and Federico and Maria Luna-Munoz, Pittsburgh, Pa.; aunts, Jessica (Matthew) Roosevelt, Mesa, Ariz., Keely (Jeannette) Ralston, Cedar Rapids, Nohemi (Javier) Gonzalez Luna and Julia Luna, both of Mexico City, Mexico, and Deborah (Jamaul) Gayles, Rochester, Minn.; uncles, Brian (Lisa) Ralston, Cedar Rapids, Jorge (Cristina) Luna, Martin (Angeles) Luna, Jonathan (Rosa) Luna and Jose Luis (Alicia) Luna, all of Mexico City, Mexico, Juan (Cristina) Luna, Pittsburgh, Pa., Ricardo (Graciela) Luna, Orlando, Fla., Alfredo (Nolita) Vasquez, Cedar Rapids, and Josh Packman, Rochester, Minn.; special friends, Gayle and Rod Brown and Sarah and Andrew Maixner, all of Marion, Ashley Brown, Milwaukee, Wis., and Raul Sanchez and Cat Wolfe, both of Cedar Rapids; many cousins, including cousin and special friend Snofawn (Kyle) Torres.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Angel Luna-Munoz, Mexico City, Mexico; great-grandparents, and special friends, Melinda Decker, Philadelphia, Pa., and Keta Lobland, Rochester, Minn.
Jovan was born Sept. 5, 2012, in Iowa City.
