Lowry, Lloyd H.
Lloyd H. Lowry, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, in Northbrook Manor Care Center from a short illness. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Michael Metz. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine J. Lowry; his sons, Don A. (Rhonda) Lowry of Johnstown, Pa. and Richard (Lucy) Lowry of North Mankato, Minn.; his sister-in-law, Barbara J. Lowry of Marion; his grandchildren, Scott Lowry of Harrisburg, Pa., Brooke Lowry of Rochester, N.Y., Eric Lowry of Johnstown, Pa., Christopher (Emily) Lowry of North Mankato, Minn. and Steve Lowry of Bozeman, Mont.; and one great-grandson, Quinn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John Lowry; and an infant brother.
Lloyd was born Oct. 7, 1929, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Maude Beaman Lowry. He married Lorraine Gamm on July 8, 1951, in Cedar Rapids. Lloyd worked for Rockwell in engineer records and retired after 40 plus years of service. He was a member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church and various retirees groups. He enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
