Lydic, Betty
Betty Lydic, 86, of Hiawatha, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Kenwood Park United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Michael Metz. Visitation will be Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids from 4 to 7 p.m., with burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in the Garden of Tranquility.
Betty was born April 29, 1927, to Paul and Myrtle (Covalt) Miller in Johnstown, Pa. She married Francis Lydic there on April 3, 1954. Betty worked as a packer for Hawkeye North American Movers. Betty was a long time member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Jean (Bruce) Fuller of Hiawatha; her son, Francis J. Spinka of Central City; one brother, Donald (Lois) Miller of Johnstown, Pa.; a grandson, Calvin (Nikki) Spinka; two great-grandsons, Elijah and Greyson Spinka of Cedar Rapids; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Berkey of Windber, Pa., and Lelia Berkey of Pittsburg, Pa.; and one brother-in-law, Irvin (Hazel) Berkey of Windber, Pa.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis; son, Roy; sister, Wilma; and grandson, Francis I. Spinka.
