SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) - The state's only Catholic university has a new interim president.
The board of directors for St. Gregory's University appointed David Marker to the post on Thursday. Marker will lead the 700-student school with its primary campus in Shawnee.
Marker will take office on Nov. 1 and will succeed Charles Buckley, who has been the university's acting president since Aug. 4. A search for a permanent president is ongoing.
Marker previously has served as president at Cornell College and Des Moines University in Iowa and as interim president at Morningside College in Iowa and Pacific Oaks College in California. He's also worked at colleges in Michigan, Hawaii, Missouri and Massachusetts.
