Summertime, and the living's not easy for Iowa football when two players get arrested
Mike Hlas Jun. 5, 2010 12:13 pm
Iowa running back Jewel Hampton was arrested early Saturday morning for public intoxication and presence on 2) Presence on premise (licensed liquor establishment) after hours.
Iowa defensive back Jordan Bernstine (legal name Jordan Morris) was arrested 14 minutes after Hampton for public intoxication.
Here's the Iowa City Police Department's arrest blotter.
Somehow, I don't think this will be the best summer of those two players' lives.
I also don't know the whole story on the incident/incidents. It occurred at Vito's in downtown Iowa City, and involved what the police report called "a large fight."
The statement from Iowa Coach Kirk Ferentz (It doesn't require a spoiler alert):
“I am aware of the incident involving Jordan Bernstine and Jewel Hampton Friday evening and at this time I am in the process of gathering all the facts concerning the incident. Until I have all the facts, I'll have no further comment and the incident will be handled internally.”
