LYNN W. SCOTT

Lynn W. Scott, 70, of Covington, passed away Nov. 22, 2016, at his home following a brief illness. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. A private remem-brance will be held at a later date.
Lynn was born Sept. 13, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Francis and Verna (Walter) Scott. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1964. Lynn was recruited by the U.S. Navy in 1965. He married Cheryll Byam in Vinton. Lynn worked for the City of Cedar Rapids as a machinist/welder until he retired in 2011.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryll S. Byam-Scott; son, Jayson L. Scott; daughter, CaraLynn B. Scott; grandson, Talyn J. Scott; mother, Verna Riis; sister, Louise (Leon) Gorsch; and six nephews.
Lynn was preceded in death by his father, Francis E. Scott.
