Tina M. Pinney, 53, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sept. 18, 2016, at Crestview Acres in Marion following an extended battle with Huntington's disease. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Brad Brown of Concordia Lutheran Church will officiate. Friends
may visit at the chapel after noon Friday. Tina's family requests that all those attending her memorial services to please wear their black and gold in support, which includes Iowa State fans. Inurnment will be at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband of 31 years, Eugene; her sons, Parker Pinney of Des Moines and Austin Pinney and wife Mariah of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Judy Tibben, and her brother, Monty Tibben, both of Cedar Rapids; and her grandmother, Esther Chambers of Dallas Center. Also surviving are numerous extended family members and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Tibben.
Tina was born Nov. 24, 1962, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Dennis and Judith (Chambers) Tibben. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School and later from the University of Iowa. Tina was married to Eugene S. Pinney on May 10, 1986, in Cedar Rapids. Tina and Eugene were blessed with the births of their sons, Parker and Austin. She enjoyed watching her sons perform both musically and athletically. Tina and Eugene attended Iowa football games together for many years and also attended numerous bowl games.
Tina's family would like to extend special thanks to the staffs of Crestview Acres in Marion and Hospice Compassus for the loving care she received.
