Floyd Anthony, 96, of Tama, passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Titus Lehman and Dennis Hause officiating. Interment will follow in Haven Cemetery, rural Tama. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Floyd was born on July 28, 1920, to Emory and Mary (Reed) Anthony. He lived most of his life in the Haven community where he farmed with his parents. When he retired, he moved to Belle Plaine and later to Toledo before entering the care center in 2005.
Floyd never married. He is survived by a brother, Carl (Naomi) Anthony of Brooklyn; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Anthony of Brooklyn. Also surviving are nine nieces, Beth Ann (the late Dale) Thomas, Mary (Jack) Salmon, Charlene (John) Lang, Sandra (John) Yeager, Pam (Mike) Dostal, Karen (Tracy) Tichy, Sharon (Rob) Manfull, Colette (Dean) Krisher and Marilyn (Mike) Bowles; and four nephews, Dale (Rose) Anthony, Michael (Cindi) Anthony, Marvin (Iris) Anthony and Gary (Mary Alice) Anthony.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Grace (Harlan) Klenk; and brothers, Earl (Lucille) Anthony and Clifford Anthony.
