Anne L. Secor, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018. Services: 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator, 1620 W. Turner St., Allentown, Pa., by the Rev. Canon Maria W.E. Tjeltveit. Burial: Grandview Cemetery, 2735 Walbert Ave., Allentown. Visitation:
1 p.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include her husband, Philip Secor; son, David, and daughter-in-law, Eriko Secor, of California, Md.; daughters, Nanette Smith of Palmerton, Pa., and Catherine Johnson of Buffalo, N.Y.; sisters, Mary Alice Maynes of Albany, N.Y., and Jo, wife of Dr Robert E. Howard of Manchester, Mass.; and grandchildren, Sarah, Benjamin and Teddy.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, the Rev. Neale A. Secor of Philadelphia, Pa.
She was the wife of Philip B. Secor, to whom she was married for 63 years. Born in Morris, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Carl J. and Rigmor (Mortensen) Smith. After graduating from high school, she earned her B.A. degree from Drew University and began a career as a secretary and office manager for Chubb Insurance Co., Duke University and Dickinson College. Following a 10-year experience as "first lady" of Cornell College in Iowa, she was a librarian and archivist at a number of colleges and churches. With her husband, she was co-founder of Secor & Associates, a consulting firm in Allentown. Anne was a lifelong Episcopalian and had served on the vestries of churches in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
