This comes from sportswriter Marc Morehouse's blog:
There is a Facebook event that is trying to coordinate a cheer in Kinnick on Saturday for Iowa's defensive coordinator Norm Parker, who's missed five games and will likely miss at least a few more after having his right foot amputated due to diabetic complications.
The event has invited around 3,000 people, with just more than a thousand "attends" connected. The event was created by Sawyer Mishak, an Iowa alumnus.
Here's the pitch:
"On the first, and possibly every, 3rd down Wisconsin faces get everyone to chant "NORM." To honor and encourage Norm Parker, our defensive coordinator, in his battle with diabetes and complications from it."
Here's the link to read more about the campaign.
And here's what Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said about Parker on Tuesday.
"It could be a week after that, but I think that's realistic. It won't be this week, obviously. We say Michigan State, but that's out of the center right now where he's at getting those rehabs. So, he's not home yet, so at least that [Michigan State]."
