Erb's Technology Solutions announces leadership changes

NEW LEADERSHIP
Erb's Technology Solutions has announced the retirement of Mike Brogan, president, effective December 2014, and Gary Denison, executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective September 2014. Beginning in January, Jim Koch (see photo) will be promoted from vice president of sales to president, and Brittani Von Roden (see photo) will be promoted from director of marketing and communications to vice president of sales and marketing. Brogan will become chief executive officer and chairman of the board. In April 2014, Bryan Steffen (see photo), vice president of operations, will be promoted to chief financial officer. Denison will become controller and Brogan will relinquish his title as CEO. Brogan and Denison joined Erb's in 1978 and 1977, respectively.
NEW HIRES
Iowa Northern Railway Co. has hired Matt Walz (see photo), North Liberty, as controller based in Cedar Rapids. Walz was previously with City Carton Recycling.
First Federal Credit Union has hired Tom Chalstrom (see photo) as chief executive officer, Justin Salow (see photo) as chief financial officer and Dan Hillers (see photo) as mortgage loan originator.
Steve Willette (see photo) has joined Ohnward Bank & Trust at its 665 Marion Blvd., Marion, location as senior vice president, Business Development. He formerly was senior vice president, commercial banking with City State Bank, Marion.
GreatAmerica Financial Services, Cedar Rapids, has hired Alex Hendricks (see photo), previously with U.S. Cellular, as account support adviser, and Molly Briggie (see photo), previously with The Abri Co., as a legal assistant.
Shuttleworth & Ingersoll, Cedar Rapids, has hired Jonathan Landon (see photo) as an associate attorney. He had previously clerked at the law firm in the summers of 2010 and 2011.
CRST International has hired Jack Ziebarth, previously with Transport America, as vice president/general manager of its Temperature Controlled Team Service, a division of CRST Expedited.
PROMOTIONS
The Anamosa State Penitentiary has promoted Lindsay Stupka (see photo) from correctional officer to correctional counselor and Stephan Peterson (see photo) from correctional officer to correctional supervisor 1.
CERTIFICATION
Ed Walter (see photo), Central State Bank, Coralville, earned a certificate from the 2013 Iowa Bankers Association's Commercial Lending School.

The Iowa City Area Development Group has appointed Michal Eynon-Lynch (see photo), project manager at Haiku Learning, to its board of directors.
Kiwanis Club of Cedar Rapids has named Mark Thomsen (see photo), Senior Transitioning Services, as president of its board of directors. Thomsen was formerly first vice president. Also named are Koleene Herlocker (see photo), HomeChoice Senior Care, first vice president; Christina Djerf (see photo), Unity Point at Home-Lifeline, second vice president; Katie Hiatt-Braasch (see photo), Ohnward Bank & Trust, and Joe Blanck (see photo), Kingery Manufacturing Service, co-secretary; and Keith Sutherland, retired, treasurer. Members of the board are Dan Breibach, Laurie Worden, Joe Schmall, Michael Metz, Jerry Oakland, Joel Sardinski, Jeffrey Hollingsworth, Pamela Landon and Charles Wehage.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids & East Central Iowa has named Dee Crozier (see photo), Nixon Elementary School, Jill Breitbach (see photo), Alliant Energy, to its board of directors.
John Donahue, Heritage Interactive Services, Iowa City, was named to the Iowa Recycling Association board of directors. Officers installed for 2013-2014 include Yvette Clapp, hibu_Divison of Yellowbook, Cedar Rapids, president; and Jennifer Jordan, Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center, secretary.
KUDOS
Roger Stone (see photo) and James Shipman (see photo), attorneys with Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman PLC, are ranked as Local Litigation Stars by Benchmark Litigation 2014. Eight attorneys were recognized by the Iowa State Bar Association for donating hours of legal assistance. SPMB attorneys on the Pro Bono Honor Roll are Matthew Brandes, Phil Brooks, Phil Burian, Paul Garnez, Larry Gutz, Mike McDonough, Kyle Wilcox and Susan Willey.
Yvonne Sippy, Cedar Rapids, was awarded a parent scholarship by the Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa. Sippy attended the organization's annual conference Oct. 13-14 in Des Moines.
Kalindi Garvin, principal resume writer and owner of Career Communication Strategies, Cedar Rapids, attended the Global Career Empowerment Summit of Career Directors International in Orlando, Fla.
The Iowa Chapter of American Institute of Architects honored Neumann Monson Architects, Iowa City, with a design award at the AIA Central States Region 2013 Excellence in Design Gala in Oklahoma City. The firm received a merit award in commercial architecture for the West Campus Transportation Center at the University of Iowa and a citation award in residential architecture for a private residence in Iowa City.
RidgeView Assisted Living, Cedar Rapids, received a Quality Program Award from the Iowa Health Care Association and Iowa Center for Assisted Living.
The Meth-Wick Community board of directors received the outstanding governance award from LeadingAge Iowa, an association of non-profit providers.
Inc. Magazine has awarded MediRevv, a health care revenue cycle management company in Coralville, with the Hire Power Award.
MEETINGS

The IEEE Microwave Theory and Technique Chapter will meet Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the conference room at the Cedar Rapids Public Library, 450 Fifth Ave. SE. Dinner is at 6 p.m., followed by free presentation by Rockwell Collins engineer David Cripe from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Dinner costs vary from $5 to $15.
