Robert Ernest Paul passed away in his home on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. He was 75 years old.
Robert was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Ernest and Evah (Lary) Paul. He attended Washington High School but left early so he could join the Air Force. During his time in the Air Force he served as a rotary wing mechanic. Afterward, he became a machinist, but quickly moved into a supervisor role. This is when he met the love of his life, Judy Brody, and they were wed in 1963 in Cedar Rapids.
Before and after he retired he made it his life's goal to learn everything he could about computers, so he could be his children's' tech support. When his children became adults he was their best friend and someone they could talk to about life's hard knocks.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene McHugh; son, Randy Paul; daughter, Lesa Paul; grandson, Nathan Coe; granddaughter, Destiny Dronebarger; and son-in-law, Jon Peterson.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; brothers, Gary McHugh of Cedar Rapids and Denis Paul of Washinton state; children, Robert Paul, Kathy Dronebarger, Justin Paul, all of Cedar Rapids, Lindy Peterson of Montezuma and Brian Paul of southern California; and his nine grandchildren.
The family is holding a private service according to Robert's wishes.
