Darin Lee Laughridge, 50, died Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Ed and Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit at St. Luke's Hospital. Per Darin's wishes, there will be no service or visitation. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Survivors include his son, Nick Laughridge of Marion; daughter, RaeChel (Sonny) Dreesman; and granddaughter, Londyn of Fort Dodge; brother, Todd Laughridge of Billings, Mont.; sister, Brenda (Pat) Vargason of Coggon; nephews, Adam (Jenny) Williams of Hiawatha, Dallas Grant of Marion, Alek (Sierra) Laughridge of Laurel, Mont., and Brandon Laughridge of Billings, Mont.; and niece, Lacey (Chris) Dickinson of Billings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jackie Laughridge; grandmother, Vivian Wiebbecke; grandmother, Arlene Laughridge; and grandfather, Orville Laughridge
Darin was born March 2, 1966, to Jack and Jackie Laughridge, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He attended Linn-Mar High School and later drove semi for a living. Darin spent a number of years living in Tennessee but made his final home in Marion. Darin loved spending his time and holidays with his brother and his sister and their families. Darin was very talented when it came to cars, both on the mechanical side as well as doing body work. He loved everything from model cars to car shows. He will be missed by many.
