Lonas, Sandra Schoon
Sandra Schoon Lonas, 54, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.
Sandy graduated from Linn-Mar High School. She was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Sandy worked as a realtor in Iowa and Texas. She was a member of the US Power Squadron and the Iowa City Optimists Club. Her friends and family remember her loving heart and bright spirit; she was always smiling.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Lonas of San Antonio Texas; daughter, Becky Kopet; grandchildren, James and Elizabeth of Iowa; father, Bill (Joyce) Schoon of Cedar Rapids; mother, Joyce Hurley of San Antonio; brothers, Mike Schoon of San Antonio, and Mark (Melinda) Schoon of Maine; and stepbrother, Steed Smith (Erica) of Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services will be held March 6 at St. Benedict's Church, San Antonio, Texas.
