Use reason, evidence for unbiased view

I've been listening for years to good friend's and relative's claims that the mainstream media are guilty of a liberal bias. Try as I might, I could never understand their absolute conviction that it was true.

Maybe it was that my beliefs in such far-fetched ideas as evolution, climate change and the usefulness of government obscured my vision. Maybe it was because it was said so often that it became almost believable.

Then, along comes Jonah Goldberg. In his opinion piece last Monday he made it clear for me when he stated “It's also somewhat less than a thunderclap revelation that the press and the Democratic Party tend to see things the same way.” That was my thunderclap!

Could it be, that when viewed through the lens of truthfulness, reason, and verifiable evidence, things will appear unbiased and similar to all viewers?
