Debra Denise Grinsell, 67, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, at the Ed and Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit in UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Debra was born Dec 5, 1950, in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Hartz) Hopper. After graduating from high school, she was employed at Linn-Mar school district and Ryan's Steakhouse. Debra was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Marion.
She is survived by her brother, Darwin (Jackie) Hopper of Springville, Iowa; four nieces; 12 great-nieces and -nephews; and 10 great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents.
