Tara Richards, marketing and program director at Brucemore in Cedar Rapids, passed along these photographs of Brucemore executive director, Jim Kern. Tara said Jim devoted his morning Monday to mowing the First Avenue lawn as a way of gaining a deeper appreciation for the work that takes place on the grounds of Brucemore. That's no small task.
Sometime in the upcoming weeks, he will spend an entire day with the gardeners: weeding, edging, dead heading, or anything else they need help with. Brucemore is Iowa's only National Trust Historic Site, at 2160 Linden Dr SE in Cedar Rapids.
