Hy-Vee updating Marion store

Hy-Vee Inc. has begun a remodeling project at its store at 3600 Business Highway 151 in Marion.

The project includes a new vestibule, expanded redemption area for beverage containers, and updated dining area, company spokeswoman Ruth Comer said.

Although the project will last until May, store operations will not be interrupted.

“Customers wil see some remodeling on the inside, and new entryways being completed,” Comer said.

The work will include the installation of more energy-efficient food cases in the meat and Chinese food departments. It will also include updating the store customer service area.

Comer said the new vestibule will include a center entrance with cart storage on either side instead of the current design with two side entrances.

The Marion Hy-Vee has been updated several times since opening in February 1992.
