Larry D. Jones, son of Robert and Lucille Maas Jones, died suddenly of a heart attack on Oct. 23, 2015.
Larry was born April 7, 1947, in Williamsburg, Iowa. He attended school in Wiliamsburg, Millersburg and Solon, graduating in 1965. He went on to attend the University of Iowa, majoring in chemical engineering. After his college graduation in 1969, he entered the U.S. Army, serving as a medic in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970, where he received the Bronze Star for his outstanding service. After returning from Vietnam, he was employed by National Starch as a chemical engineer, inventor, and vice president/plant manager. He retired in 1997 and lived in Prosperity, S.C., until his death.
Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley Davis Jones; his children, Nikki (Harold) Siegel, Ariana Jones, Joshua Jones and Misty Davis; six grandchildren, Augustine, Gretchen, Benedict, Jerome and Dominic Siegel, and Emily Jones; his first wife, Susan (Donner) Jones; and a sister, Judy (Jake) Jacobs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shari (Dean) Pohren.
