LaVerna Sophia Johanna Folkmann, 89, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg.
She is survived by four children, Sharon (Marvin) Maas of Williamsburg, Kathy (Randy) Furler of Austin, Texas, Kenneth (Shelley) Folkmann of Marengo and Sandra (Colin) Pinney of South Amana; 10 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dolores Kleinmeyer of Williamsburg; and a brother, Robert Sandersfeld of Amana.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. Pastor Gary Sears will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
Memorials are for Trinity Lutheran Church, Lutheran Interparish School or Essence of Life Hospice.
