Swayze, Trevallis L.
Trevallis L. Swayze, 37, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Services: 2:30 p.m. Saturday at River of Life Ministries. Pastor Brian Fink will officiate. There will be a visitation held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Per the family's wishes the casket will be closed at all times
Survivors include two daughters, Kaylie and Avery Swayze, both of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Zaire Swayze of Phoenix, Ariz., and Nijel Cambridge-Swayze of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Dazie Swayze of Cedar Rapids; his father, Leon Ridley III of Natchez, Miss.; three brothers, Demosthenes “Dee” Swayze of Cedar Rapids and Stephen and Chad Ridley, both of Natchez, Miss.; and his fiancee, Tanna Cambridge, and her daughter, Alijah, of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by a special cousin, Alphonso Davis; and his grandparents.
Trevallis was born April 8, 1974, in Natchez, Miss., the son of Dazie Swayze and Leon Ridley III. He graduated in 1993 from Kennedy High School, where he was active in track, football and the marching band. He was currently attending Kirkwood Community College, majoring in business.
Trevallis enjoyed sports and was a participant in the Iowa Games both in track and football.
He was a wonderful, caring man who enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by his beloved family and many, many friends.
Memorial donations may be given to the Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation in Trevallis' name.
