Senne, Donald G.
Donald G. Senne, 78, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center in Keystone following a brief illness. Services: will be
10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with the Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating. Interment: St. John Cemetery in Newhall, with graveside military rites. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Keystone from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.
A memorial fund has been established.
Donald was born May 5, 1931, at rural Van Horne, to Herman and Elfrieda (Kranz) Senne. He graduated from Newhall High School in 1948. He served his nation in the U.S. Army and was a member of the John Ward-McGranahan American Legion Post 167 of Newhall.
On Oct. 5, 1952, he was united in marriage to Anita L. Franzenburg at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2007.
Donald farmed in the Van Horne and Newhall area. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall, where he served on several church boards.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Gary) Muench of Worms, Neb.; his son, Doug Senne of Van Horne; his grandchildren, Nick (Sandy) Muench, Katie (Kevin) Wardyn, Matt Muench, and Emily Muench; his great-granddaughter, Grace Muench; and his sisters, Lenore and Gladene Senne of Newhall.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
