Schmitt, Lester Frank
Lester Frank Schmitt died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at English Valley Care Center, North English, at the age of 86 years. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, North English. Father Joseph Roost will officiate. Burial will be in Wellman Cemetery, with military rites. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home, North English, with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Ann of Wellman; a son, Michael (Mary Jo) Schmitt of Kinross; two daughters, Terri Schmitt of West Des Moines and Sandy (Bill) Van Dee of North English; six grandchildren, Sidney Van Dee, Rachel (Alex) Ralston, Lindsey (Adam) Nechanicky, Jordan Schmitt, Kelli Schmitt and Klint Schmitt; two great-grandchildren, Carson and Mitchell Nechanicky; and a sister, Rose Haggerty of Glen Ellyn, Ill.
A general memorial fund has been established.
