Rose Fisher, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at her home. Celebration of Life services
will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Rose was born Sept. 22, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Charles and Lydia (Riddle) Langer. Rose married Frank Fisher on Sept. 7, 1944, in Ely. Rose and Frank farmed in the area in their early years together.
Rose and Frank moved to Cedar Rapids, where Rose was a homemaker and loving mother to her daughter, Karen.
She enjoyed attending polka dances with Frank and playing cards with various friends and family. Rose enjoyed crocheting and being outdoors in nice weather. She was proud of her grandson and made frequent visits to her family in Arizona.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Karen (Rod) Huenemann, and her grandson, Brandon Huenemann, both of Peoria, Ariz.; her nieces, Connie Newlon and Betty Kucera, both of Cedar Rapids; as well as many nephews and nieces-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Fisher; her brother, Emil (Gladys) Langer; and two nephews, Allan and John Langer.
