Mary Ann B. Bockenstedt, 90, of Strawberry Point, died at Regional Medical Center in Manchester on Saturday, June 27, 2015.
She was born Nov. 18, 1924, in Petersburg, the daughter of Frank and Theresa (Schnieders) Klostermann. Mary Ann was raised and attended school in Petersburg.
On April 29, 1947, Mary Ann was united in marriage to Edward Bockenstedt in Petersburg. Eleven children were born to this union. The family lived in Colesburg, Masonville and Strawberry Point. The couple later divorced. Mary Ann continued to make her home in Strawberry Point. For the past few years, she has lived in the Edgewood Convalescent Home.
Mary Ann was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Strawberry Point. She enjoyed sewing, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her 11 children, David (Lois) Bockenstedt, John Bockenstedt, Alan (Chris) Bockenstedt and Glen (Carla) Bockenstedt, all of Strawberry Point, Mary (Mike) Thissen of Davenport, Donna (Jeff) Thissen of Waterloo, Delaine (Alan) Knickerbocker of Toddville, Jim (Daniela) Bockenstedt of Phoenix, Ariz., Lori Engelken of Manchester, Linda (Jeff) MacTaggart of Omaha, Neb., and Randy (Roxanne) Bockenstedt of Flower Mound, Texas; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a special family friend, Gary Adams of Strawberry Point; four sisters-in-law, Patty Bockenstedt of Colorado, Ardelle Klostermann of Florida, Arlene Spellerberg of Iowa and Chris Klostermann of Massachusetts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; two great-grandsons, Parker Donaldson and Christopher Bockenstedt; son-in-law, Dean Engelken; and her siblings, Harold, Lawrence, Eddie, Arnold, Raymond and Elmer (Bud) Klostermann and Elma Naber.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Strawberry Point, by the Rev. Paul R. Peters and Sister Carla Popes. Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, Manchester, where there will be a 3 p.m. Scripture service. Friends also may call starting at 9:30 a.m. until time of the service on Wednesday at the church in Strawberry Point. Interment: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Strawberry Point.
