Raymond Nathaniel Rouse, 82, passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, in the presence of his loved ones at his home in Tipton. A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tipton, with Father Hitch officiating. Burial will be in Tipton's St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the burial back at St. Mary's Hall. Visitation is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton.
Memorials may be designated in Ray's honor to the Tipton Senior Center, Tipton Public Library or St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Raymond "Ray" Nathaniel Rouse was born on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1931, to Chester and Florence Rouse in the city of Hopkinton, Iowa. Ray went to school at Oxford Junction from first grade until 10th grade, then moved and finished his last two years of high school in Clarence.
Shortly after graduating, Ray enlisted in the United States Navy. During his years of service, Ray married the love of his life, Kathleen Mary Crock. Ray and Kathleen "Kathy" were married June 18, 1955, in Mechanicsville, Iowa. On, March 17, 1960, Ray was honorably discharged and returned home to pursue his livelihood as a farmer and carpenter.
Ray is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters, Cindy Kuehl of Mechanicsville and Sherry (Dave) Schlimmer of Tipton; sons, Randy (Brenda) Rouse of Mechanicsville and Rick (Judy) Rouse of Tipton; sisters, Anne Fetz of Sioux City, Jeanne Maher of Tipton and Gladys Hurtis of Macon, Ga.; brothers, Tom Rouse and John Rouse of Princeton, Mo.; grandchildren, Michele, Dustin, Melinda, Jeritt, Matt, Danielle, Emilie, Scott and Kellie; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Conlin, Donovan, Abigail, Aybra and Myla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chet and Mike Rouse; sisters, Mary Brinkman and Betty Christopherson; and son-in-law, Kevin Kuehl.
