Miller, Brandon Jon

Brandon Jon Miller, 35, of Davis, Calif., formerly of Brooklyn, died Monday, June 4, 2012. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at First Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn, with the Rev. John Reynolds Jr. officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn.

Brandon is survived by his parents, Arlo and Marilyn Miller of Brooklyn; brothers, Chad (Nichole) of Urbandale, Matt of Brooklyn and Jerrod (Michele) of Tiffin; and nieces and nephews, Laynie and Owen Miller of Tiffin and Jevohn and Shealynn Miller of Brooklyn.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eldon and Virginia Miller and Willis and Charlotte Pease.

Brandon Miller was born July 2, 1976, in Grinnell, Iowa. He graduated from BGM High School as salutatorian of the Class of 1994. He graduated with honors from the University of Iowa in 1998, with a degree in civil engineering. He continued his education at the University of California at Davis. He was in the process of obtaining his doctorate in biological systems in engineering.

Brandon was actively researching areas that would make the agriculture field easier on the human body, especially ergonomic equipment for organic farming.

A memorial fund has been established.
