NICHOLAS PAUL REILLY
Wellman
Nicholas Paul Reilly, 77, lately of Wellman, Iowa, died Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House following a lengthy illness.
Nick was born June 1, 1943, the youngest of six children to James and Marguerite Reilly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Nick is survived by several nieces and nephews and special longtime friends, Bob and Susan Pinchotti, Father Ivan Nienhaus, Bob, Mary Beth and Paul Helgens.
He was predeceased by his parents and siblings.
Nick attended St. Patrick Catholic School and Jefferson High School. After graduation, Nick became a hairstylist working in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, before becoming a Master Stylist in California for several years. He eventually returned to Cedar Rapids to care for his mother and established his own business, Headlines by Nick, here.
Nick was Irish and Catholic to the core. He had a deep constant faith that served him well as he dealt with multiple health concerns. He was courageous and uncomplaining as he faced multiple hospital stays, surgeries and rehabilitations over the last 15 years.
Nick was a great dancer, a foodie of the first water, and never met an antique he did not like. He loved music, sushi, classical movies, and dogs, not necessarily in that order.
He will be missed by those who knew him and cared for him.
"Bye for now, Toots."
Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society or St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
