Williams, JoAnn
JoAnn Williams, 73, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. A service honoring JoAnn's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge with the Rev. Lyle Hansen officiating. Interment will be in the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23. The visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
JoAnn is survived by her husband, Dale; her daughter, LeAnn (James) Heun of Madison, Wis.; and three grandchildren, Thomas, Matthew and Katelyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gary Dunn.
JoAnn Dunn, the daughter of James E. and Dorothy E. (VanSickle) Dunn, was born March 10, 1940, in Springville, Iowa. She graduated from Springville High School. On Oct. 17, 1964, JoAnn was united in marriage to Dale Williams in Marion, Iowa. She worked in medical records at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids and then at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Dale and JoAnn lived in Fort Dodge since 1967 and were long time co-owners of the Baskin-Robbins franchise in Fort Dodge, until their retirement in 1998.
JoAnn enjoyed reading, cats and gardening. She was an active volunteer with the Trinity Regional Medical Center Auxiliary for many years. JoAnn treasured time spent with her grandchildren.
