3 teens charged with damaging 50 tombstones at Mount Vernon cemetery

Three teenagers from Cedar Rapids are accused of damaging more than 50 tombstones at the Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery last month.
Charges of second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony, have been filed against Austin Ferch, 16, Anthony Hodges, 16, and Kaleb Wilcox, 16, all of Cedar Rapids. They were taken into custody and then released to their parents, police said.
Vandalism to the grave sites was reported July 8. Volunteers helped repair the damage.
